Gutter Service in Kingston, NH

Josiah Bartlett, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, practiced medicine in Kingston, and the town center still has the old houses to show for it. We cover Kingston from Hampstead, about 9 miles and roughly 10 minutes by our estimate, from antique trim in the historic district to homes by Great Pond. Old fascia and sloping shoreline lots are what we plan around before we measure a run.

Kingston's most famous resident practiced medicine here in 1750 and is buried in Plains Cemetery. You can still see the town he knew in the historic district around Main Street. Out toward the pond, the housing is much younger, and the questions change.

Antique trim in the historic center

Kingston's historic district covers the town center and includes the town hall and the Josiah Bartlett House. Houses in an area like that tend to have plain, old trim, rooflines that have settled and fascia boards that have been painted many times. A modern gutter hung without regard to that will pull a bracket out of soft wood in a season or two.

Our approach is to measure the line the house actually has, check the wood behind where the gutter goes, and fit the run to it. If the fascia needs to be replaced first, we say so up front. Our gutter repair page covers trim and hanger work. Before changing a house in a historic district, ask the town whether there is a review.

Great Pond, shoreline lots and downspouts

Kingston State Park is a 44-acre day-use park at the northeastern end of Great Pond, which covers about 268 acres. Homes and cottages around the pond often sit on small lots that slope toward the water. A short roof edge on a cottage still sends a surprising amount of water down a single downspout in a heavy rain.

On those lots, where the water ends up is the real question. We prefer to end a downspout on lawn or planted ground, well above the shoreline, not on bare soil that will wash into the pond. For a bigger drainage question, see seamless gutters for how we size runs to the roof.

Younger houses in between

Kingston's median home was built in 1982, and 74% are owner-occupied (ACS 2020-24), a lower share than many of its neighbors. A 1982 house is on its second system or overdue. That is the common job in the stretches between the historic center and the pond. Routine work is gutter cleaning, a fresh look at the pitch and a repair of seams.

Winter on old roofs

Hampstead, 9 miles away, has about 62 days of snow cover a year (Dwellics), and Kingston lies in the same weather. On an old house, snow and ice at the eave are hardest on a gutter bracket set in tired wood. A thaw loosens the ice, and the weight tugs the run away from the board.

If your gutter pulled away last winter, do not simply push it back and screw it in. Have the fascia checked. Fresh screws in soft wood hold for one season at best, and the repair we would suggest starts with what is behind the metal.

Planning a Kingston visit

Kingston is nine miles from Hampstead. We look over the roofline and fascia, measure the runs and put the price in writing. Danville, Newton, Plaistow and Brentwood are near enough to combine trips, and East Kingston borders the town. Kingston lies in Rockingham County, like the base in Hampstead.

What customers say about repairs and trim

“He did a 158 Ft seamless gutter and front trim on my building. Highly recommended. He earned my business.”

“He did such a great job we asked him to do some repair work on some of the seams. He came back a couple days later and completed that job wonderfully as well.”

“Caio was professional and courteous. He spotted multiple things that were wrong with our gutters beyond what we knew about and performed the repair promptly at an excellent price.”

Gutter questions from Kingston

Do you serve cottages near Great Pond and Kingston State Park?

Yes, the pond area is part of our Kingston coverage. Cottages there often have short roof edges, tight lots and ground that slopes toward the water, so downspout placement is half the job. Send your street and a photo, and we will plan the visit around the slope and the shoreline.

Can you fit gutters on antique homes in Kingston's plains district?

Yes, with care. Old fascia is often wavy and painted many times, so we measure the real line, check the wood and fit the gutter to it rather than forcing a straight run. We tell you before work starts if any trim needs repair. Ask the town about review rules before changing a house in the historic district.

How do you handle drainage on waterfront lots?

We aim the downspouts away from the foundation and the shoreline and onto lawn or planted ground, with extensions long enough to carry water well clear. We do not discharge straight onto bare soil above the water. Before you regrade a slope near a pond, ask the town and the state what is allowed.

How far is Kingston from Hampstead?

Nine miles, a roughly ten-minute run by our estimate. We book Kingston visits ahead and sometimes pair them with jobs in Danville, Newton or Plaistow. Tell us the address and what is wrong, and we will say when we can come.
