Gutter Service in Raymond, NH

Raymond sits on the Lamprey River, 12 miles from our Hampstead base and about a 15-minute drive by our estimate. The river flooded here in 2006 and 2007, so on lots near it and near Onway Lake a downspout's outlet matters as much as the gutter above it. A longer extension or a moved outlet often does more here than a bigger gutter.

The Lamprey River is what sets Raymond apart for gutter work. It flooded the town during the federally declared disasters of May 2006 and April 2007, and anyone living near it knows how fast low ground goes under. Gutters will not stop a river. They decide whether your roof sends a second stream of water to the wettest part of the lot.

Roof water on low ground near the Lamprey

Raymond's village sits along the river, and lots near it can stay wet well into spring. Add a roof that sends water to a downspout at the foundation, and the soil next to the house stays saturated for days. We check where every downspout ends before we talk about the gutter itself.

The fixes are usually small. A longer extension, a splash block that actually sheds water, or moving an outlet from a low corner to a higher one can change how a basement behaves. If a buried drain line is part of the answer, tell us when you call. Any digging needs Dig Safe first, and we will talk through what is realistic. The wider picture is in our blog post on Rockingham County flood years and downspouts.

Onway Lake and the year-round cottage

Lots near Onway Lake can be small, and some slope toward the water. The median Raymond home was built in 1983, with 86% of homes owner-occupied (ACS 2020-24).

A small lot leaves little room to send water anywhere. A short downspout that lands on the lawn near a shoreline sends everything downhill. We look at the grade and where else the water can go before we plan the outlets.

A routine for river-town roofs

Two checks matter most here. In late fall, after the leaves are down, clear the troughs and flush the downspouts, so water can leave before the freeze. In spring, after the melt, walk the foundation and look for wet ground, soft spots and ice left in the extensions.

Raymond homes with trees close to the roof have the most to gain from the fall visit, since a plugged downspout on low ground puts water against the foundation. The gutter cleaning page lists what a visit covers.

What to look for after a storm

Walk the house in daylight after heavy rain and look for four things:

  1. Water spilling over the front edge instead of the downspout
  2. A gutter pulled away from the fascia at one end
  3. A downspout that has come apart at an elbow
  4. Pooled water within a few feet of the foundation

If a run is hanging or blocking a door, call. We will set the earliest visit we can, and our storm-damaged gutters checklist covers what to photograph.

Raymond trips are planned ahead

Raymond is a 12-mile run from the base, close to Route 101, which has two ramps right into town. We book these visits ahead, and a Raymond stop can sit alongside work in Chester, Fremont or Sandown. On site we measure each run, look hard at the outlets and give the price in writing. Raymond falls within Rockingham County, the county we work from.

Gutter questions from Raymond

Can better downspouts help Raymond homes near the Lamprey River?

They help with roof water, though not with a river rising. A downspout that ends beside the foundation adds to a wet basement on low ground. Longer extensions, a different outlet location and gutters sized for the roof keep your own roof from adding to the problem. Call, and we will look at the lot's slope.

Do you handle urgent repairs in Raymond after storms?

Yes, we take storm calls. Twelve miles is a real trip, so once we hear what has happened we will set the earliest visit we can. Photos help. For a gutter hanging off the fascia, tell us if it blocks a door or a walkway so we can plan the first visit around it.

Do you serve homes around Onway Lake?

Yes, the Onway Lake area is within our Raymond coverage. Lakefront lots can be small and sloped toward the water, so we check where each downspout can safely end. Send your street and a photo of the worst corner, and we plan from there.

How far is Raymond from your Hampstead base?

Twelve miles, which we put at a 15-minute drive. Raymond visits are booked ahead, and we sometimes pair them with work in Chester, Fremont or Sandown. Give us your address and the problem, and we will say how the week looks.
