Gutter Service in Carroll County, NH

Only part of Carroll County is within our reach. The southern towns along Lake Winnipesaukee are in range, the nearest about 1 hour 25 minutes and 62 miles from our Hampstead base. The Mount Washington Valley towns to the north are out of range, and we would rather say that up front than book a visit we cannot keep. Where we do go, trips are booked well ahead.

Carroll County stretches from the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee up into the White Mountains, and we reach only a corner of it. The southern, Winnipesaukee side is in range. The Mount Washington Valley towns to the north are not.

Where our range ends in Carroll County

Four towns are on our list: Wolfeboro, Wakefield, Moultonborough and Tuftonboro. The nearest is about 1 hour 25 minutes from Hampstead and the farthest is closer to 1 hour 40 minutes. Ossipee is the county seat, and whether a town like it falls in range depends on the address, so call and ask.

North of that, the Mount Washington Valley is out of range. We do not take a job there and then fail to show up.

Why the county is mostly out of reach

Carroll County covers about 992 square miles, but only 61 of them, 6.2%, are water (Census figures), and most of the land runs north into the mountains. The four towns we cover sit in the southern corner, along the east shore of Lake Winnipesaukee and the lakes behind it. That corner is also where the roofs match what we do: lake homes and village houses with long eaves, heavy pine and snow that sits for months.

Four towns, four different roofs

The median Carroll County home was built in 1982, and 83% are owner-occupied (ACS 2020-24). Those figures hide a lot of variation.

  • Wolfeboro has large lake homes and a long summer-resort history, with roofs that are big and often complicated.
  • Moultonborough has long shoreline frontage, large seasonal homes and mountain slopes behind it.
  • Tuftonboro is small, with Melvin Village and Mirror Lake, heavy snow and falling needles.
  • Wakefield pairs an antique village at Wakefield Corner with lake communities under heavy pine.

Winter, pine and the Ossipee Mountains

The Ossipee Mountains rise behind Moultonborough and Tuftonboro, and Mount Shaw, the range's high point at 2,990 feet, stands in both towns. Hillside homes below slopes like that see snow slide off in slabs onto the gutter. Roads matter too. NH 28 runs north from Alton through Wolfeboro to NH 16 in Ossipee, and NH 109A leaves it at Wolfeboro Falls toward Melvin Village, so one town on the lake is a long way from the next.

Pine cover is heavy across much of the southern county. Needles lodge in downspout elbows, wet debris freezes in the trough, and a slab of snow sliding off a steep roof lands on the gutter below. Ice dams form when attic heat melts snow that refreezes at the eave, and insulation and ventilation are the real fix. We handle the gutter side.

Services that suit the lake towns

Booking from Hampstead

Visits to Carroll County are booked ahead, and we may group yours with others in the same area. If you are in the north of the county, we are the wrong call. If you are on the lake side, give us your address and what the gutters are doing, and we will say plainly how it fits our schedule. Belknap County, next door, is closer to our base.

What customers say

“He called me on Tuesday to tell me that there is rain expected and he would like to move the job up to Wednesday (today). I thought that was very professional of him to reach out and reschedule.”

Gutter questions from Carroll County

Which Carroll County towns can you reach for gutter work?

We cover Wolfeboro, Wakefield, Moultonborough and Tuftonboro on the southern, Winnipesaukee side. We do not cover the Mount Washington Valley to the north. If your town is between those, such as Ossipee, call with the address and we will tell you honestly whether it falls in range before you plan on us.

Do you work in North Conway or the Mount Washington Valley?

No. Those towns are outside our radius, and we would rather tell you now than book a visit we cannot keep. Our Carroll County coverage is the southern, lake-side towns. For the valley, you will need a contractor closer to you. Wherever you are, ask any installer for a written price.

How far ahead do I need to book in Carroll County?

The trip from Hampstead is long, at least about 1 hour 25 minutes to the nearest town, so visits here are booked ahead and may be combined with other lake-side jobs. We do not promise quick response. Call in early fall if you want a cleaning done before the first hard freeze.

Why is most of Carroll County outside your range?

Distance. The nearest Carroll town is already about 1 hour 25 minutes from Hampstead, and the Mount Washington Valley lies farther north, in a county of 992 square miles. The lake-side towns of Wolfeboro, Wakefield, Moultonborough and Tuftonboro are the part we can reach. Call with your address and we will confirm before you rely on us.
