Gutter Service in Rye, NH
Rye is about 33 miles and roughly 45 minutes from our Hampstead base, and its oceanfront homes along Route 1A and Rye Harbor take wind and salt that inland gutters never see. A nor'easter pulls on every hanger, and big storms flood stretches of Ocean Boulevard, so on this coast the hardware matters as much as the gutter. We cover Rye and book visits ahead.

On the Rye coast, the gutter is only as good as what holds it up. A full gutter in a nor'easter is a heavy, wind-loaded weight hanging off the fascia.
Hangers first, then the gutter
Rye's oceanfront houses along Route 1A and near Rye Harbor take wind straight off the water. The median home dates to 1972 (ACS 2020-24), so many houses carry gutters that are decades old, with hangers that have had decades of wind. When one hanger lets go, the weight shifts to the next, and a whole run can peel.
When you compare quotes, ask each installer how far apart the hangers go, what they are made of and how they fasten to the fascia. Salt wears steel parts, so an aluminum gutter with rust-resistant hardware is the sensible pairing. Ask every installer the same questions and compare the answers.

Services for the Route 1A houses
- Seamless gutters to replace sectional runs that have opened at the joints
- Gutter repair for sags and loose hangers before the next storm season
- Emergency gutter repair when a run has come down or is swinging loose

Where Ocean Boulevard floods
In the January 2024 storm, flooding flattened sea walls that separate Ocean Boulevard from the beach in Rye, and the police chief said water stayed ankle deep on the road even at low tide (NHPR). The town lists Ocean Boulevard at Church Street, Harbor Road at Ocean Boulevard and Jenness Road among areas with recurring or likely future flooding, and its master plan materials project 0.5 to 1.3 feet of sea-level rise by 2050.
A gutter cannot hold back a tide. What it can do is keep roof water from adding to a yard that is already wet. Near these roads a downspout end may sit under standing water at high tide, so we ask where the discharge goes and whether it can be lifted or moved to higher ground.
Rye Beach, Jenness and Parsons Creek
Rye Beach village lies along Route 1A just south of Jenness State Beach, and Parsons Creek reaches the ocean along Ocean Boulevard near Concord Point (Town of Rye). Houses between the road and the water take the wind head on and sit on damp ground. When you call, tell us which side of the road you are on, because that changes how we approach hangers and downspouts.
Getting to Rye from Hampstead
Rye is one of our longer trips, about 33 miles. Visits are booked ahead and may be grouped with other Seacoast jobs. For storm damage, tell us what you see and we will set the earliest visit we can. For a planned job, we walk the roofline, measure the runs, check the fascia and hangers, and write the price down.
Permits near the tide line
Rye's rules on gutter-only work are not something we could confirm, so ask the town office first. State shoreland law (RSA 483-B) covers land within 250 feet of tidal water, which includes the Atlantic shore here. Call Dig Safe before any trench for a buried line.
Beaches, the harbor and nearby towns
Odiorne Point State Park, Wallis Sands State Beach and Rye Harbor State Park all lie along Route 1A in Rye. Homes near them share the same exposure. New Castle and Portsmouth are the nearest towns on our list, and North Hampton runs along the coast to the south, all within Rockingham County.

Gutter questions from Rye
What should Rye oceanfront homeowners ask about gutter hangers?
Ask what the hangers are made of, how far apart they go and how they fasten to the fascia. Wind off the ocean pulls on a full gutter, and salt wears steel quickly. We can look at your house and write down what we would use.
Can you come to Rye after storm damage?
We will set the earliest visit we can once you tell us what happened. Rye is about 33 miles from Hampstead, so call early and describe the damage, such as a run on the ground or a hanger torn out. For active water coming in, put a bucket or tarp down first.
How long is the drive from Hampstead to Rye?
About 33 miles, or roughly 45 minutes by our estimate. Because Rye is far, we book visits ahead and often group them with Portsmouth or Hampton jobs. You get a written price once we have seen the roofline.
Services in Rye
- Gutter Cleaning
Leaves, needles and grit settle in a trough here as anywhere. We clear the runs, flush the downspouts and check every hanger while we are up there, since a loose one is easiest to catch before a storm.
- Gutter Service
Rye houses along Route 1A take wind straight off the water. We walk the roofline, count the hangers and look at the fascia, then say whether it is cleaning, repair or new runs.
- Seamless Gutters
A 1972 median house often carries sectional runs with decades of wind on their joints. Seamless aluminum puts seams at corners and outlets, and we put hanger spacing and material in writing.
- Aluminum Gutters
Aluminum does not rust the way steel does, which suits a coast with salt spray. The screws and hangers are where corrosion starts, so ask every installer what they are made of.
- Gutter Repair
A sag or a loose hanger before storm season is cheaper than a run on the lawn after it. We reset hangers, reseal seams and check fascia, and we say when repair will not last.
- Storm-Damaged Gutter Repair
After a nor'easter, photograph the damage from the ground and keep clear of any swinging length. Call with what you see and we will set the earliest visit we can.
- Emergency Gutter Repair
