Gutter Service in Strafford County, NH

Strafford County mixes mill-city multifamily buildings, a university town and wooded newer homes, and we cover all of it from Hampstead. The nearest Strafford town is about 30 minutes away by our estimate, and the farthest, Farmington, is about an hour. The county is small but varied, so we plan each trip ahead and ask what the roofline looks like before we book.

Strafford County does not have one kind of roof. Three old mill cities sit on its rivers, a university town sits on Great Bay, and between them are wooded towns with newer homes on large lots. Each needs a different kind of gutter work.

Why Strafford County leans toward repair

The county's median home was built in 1979 and 67% of homes are owner-occupied (ACS 2020-24). That median hides a wide spread. In Dover the median is 1976, 53% of homes are owner-occupied, and 26% were built before 1940. In Lee, the median is 1987 and 96% of homes are owner-occupied.

Older multifamily and mixed-use buildings tend to have long gutter runs, patched seams and trim that has taken water for decades. In those buildings, gutter repair usually beats starting over. Fix the seams, rehang the sagging section, replace the rotten fascia board, and the system keeps working.

Tidal rivers and low lots

Strafford is the smallest county in New Hampshire by area, about 368 square miles of land (US Census), and rivers cross all of it. The Salmon Falls River forms the Maine line and is tidal from Rollinsford down to Dover.

For gutters, the point is where water goes once it leaves the roof. Houses in the river valleys often sit on flat or low ground close to the water, with little slope to carry a downspout's flow away. A short splash block that works on a hillside can leave a puddle against a foundation here, so a longer extension or a re-aimed outlet can matter as much as the gutter.

The Cocheco and Salmon Falls mill cities

Dover is the county seat and its millyard on the Cocheco River now holds the Cocheco Falls Millworks. Rochester also sits on the Cocheco, and Somersworth is on the Salmon Falls River at the Maine line. Housing in all three runs from 19th-century mill-era buildings to postwar and 1970s homes.

The cities also have commercial roofs along their main corridors. For those, see our commercial gutter page and tell us the building size, the roof type and any tenant hours we need to work around.

Wooded lots in Durham, Barrington and Lee

Homes built in the 1980s on wooded lots collect needles and leaves for most of the year. Barrington and Lee fit that picture, and Durham adds rental houses near the University of New Hampshire. For these properties the question is usually gutter cleaning and whether guards are worth adding.

Up toward Blue Job Mountain

Farmington is the farthest Strafford town we list, about an hour out. The Cocheco River runs through it and Blue Job Mountain reaches 1,350 feet in the southwest. Hill towns hold snow longer, and a north-side gutter may stay loaded after the south side clears. Our gutter service page covers what we install and repair on a roofline like that.

Route 125, the circle at Lee and the Downeaster

Route 125 passes through Lee, Barrington and Rochester and meets Route 4 at the Lee Traffic Circle. Route 4 leads on to Durham, where Amtrak's Downeaster stops, and the Spaulding Turnpike runs to Dover and Rochester.

Towns along that corridor are easy to group, so a cleaning in Lee and an estimate in Durham can fit one trip. Farmington is the farthest, so plan it as its own trip. Give your town and street when you call.

Trips from Hampstead to Strafford County

Strafford County is beyond our everyday radius, so we plan these visits. The nearest town is about 30 minutes (23 miles) away by our estimate. Visits are booked ahead and may be grouped with nearby jobs, which is why a call a week or two before you need the work helps.

We open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm. Describe the building, the problem and your town, and we will tell you what we need to see. Every price is written down after we look at the job.

What customers say about our gutter work

“Caio came out promptly to look at our 30,000 square foot commercial building in Plaistow and provided an estimate that evening. He came back a week later and did a wonderful job cleaning all of the gutters.”
Jaimie B., Plaistow, NH · Google review, 11 months ago as of November 2026
“Caio was professional and courteous. He spotted multiple things that were wrong with our gutters beyond what we knew about and performed the repair promptly at an excellent price.”
Steve K. · Google review, a year ago as of November 2026
“We had a gutter put on to help divert rain from a rotting window. Company was responsive and came up with a solution to fix the entire problem rather than put a band aid on it.”

Gutter questions from Strafford County

Which Strafford County towns do you cover from Hampstead?

We have pages for Dover, Rochester, Somersworth, Farmington, Durham, Barrington and Lee. The drive runs from about 30 minutes to Lee up to about an hour to Farmington. If your Strafford town is not listed, call with the address and we will tell you plainly whether we can reach it.

Can you service a multifamily building in Strafford County?

Call us with the unit count, the roof type, the gutter length and any access limits, such as a tight lot or shared driveway. Multifamily buildings in the mill cities often have long runs and several downspouts, so we want to see the roofline before writing a price. You get that price in writing.

How far ahead should I book gutter work in Strafford County?

Call as early as you can, ideally before leaf drop or the first hard freeze. Strafford trips are scheduled in advance and may be grouped with other jobs nearby, so a firm date can take a little longer than for a town next to Hampstead. If the work is urgent, we will set the earliest visit we can.
